We are so excited to be able to announce that Duende is popping up at Orchard View Farm on 3rd and 4th March 2017.

Tim Zekki, the Cypriot born mastermind behind Duende, is a personal friend of ours and has helped us out from time to time in the café and for functions.  He is always an absolute pleasure to work with, which it made it even more exciting when he asked us if he could “pop up” at the farm.

Duende and Tim have rave reviews, deservedly.  Tim started with supper clubs in the delis that he owned and ran in West London.  From here, he was chosen as a Gary Rhodes Local Food Hero finalist.  This in itself is no mean feat.  The supper clubs were so popular that Tim developed the idea and, fortunately for us, moved to the Chilterns.  Tim is most often seen in Chesham so it is lovely that he has spread his wings this way!  The unanimously amazing reviews talk about the quality of the food, the slick service and the great vibe.  I CAN’T WAIT!

I asked Tim what Duende means.  He gave me a coy smile and then told me.  It is said to be the hardest word to translate from Spanish to English but broadly speaking, it is akin to spirit, passion, inspiration: a spontaneous feeling arising in creativity.  This is the perfect name for Tim and Duende.  He always creates some magic in the kitchen and I for one am super excited about being his guest.

Tim’s style is classical with influences from seasonal British cuisine with Mediterranean influences too.  What does that mean?  Well I’ve had a sneak preview of the menu so I’ll share it with you!2017-01-25 10.26.49.jpg

Expect it to be different from your usual weekend night out but in a truly magical and amazing way, as well as being a very reasonable price.

Numbers will be strictly limited so I suggest you get your booking in early and make the most of this opportunity as these events typically sell out very quickly – you have been warned!  You are welcome to bring your own drinks or buy from our bar and we will be offering cheese boards.  Please enquire in the shop if you’re interested, although bookings should be made directly with Duende (duendepopup@gmail.com)
